Vauxhall Introduces New Prime Plus Trim for Combo and Combo Electric Line-up The Prime Plus trim has been added as a mid-point in the Combo line-up, positioned between the entry-level Prime and the top-spec Pro trim.
In addition to the generous standard features, the Prime Plus trim offers an upgraded infotainment system with a 10-inch touchscreen. This model also includes a dual front passenger bench seat with a load-through bulkhead, providing enhanced practicality for carrying longer items.
The Prime Plus trim is now available to order, with prices starting at £23,575 (OTR RRP exc. VAT) for diesel variants and £28,100 (OTR RRP after Plug-in Van Grant, exc. VAT) for electric versions.
In 2024, the Combo was the UK’s second best-selling compact van, contributing to Vauxhall becoming the UK’s second best-selling van manufacturer (excluding pick-ups).
Vauxhall has expanded the Combo and Combo Electric line-up with the new Prime Plus trim, offering greater choice to customers by building on the generous standard specification of the entry-level Prime trim.
Among the additional features of the Prime Plus trim is an enhanced infotainment system. Instead of the standard smartphone station, it includes a 10-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay™/Android Auto™ and natural voice recognition. This system utilises Qualcomm Technologies’ Snapdragon Cockpit Platform, a first in the LCV market, which leverages artificial intelligence to deliver a more integrated and adaptive cockpit experience that can evolve to suit users' priorities and preferences.
Customers also benefit from increased flexibility with a bench seat for two front passengers and a load-through bulkhead, increasing the load volume to up to 4.4m³. An electric parking brake is also included in all versions. This is in addition to the standard features offered on the Prime trim, which include air conditioning, a six-way adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar adjustment, electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors, cruise control with a speed limiter, and steering wheel-mounted audio controls.
The new Combo also features an extensive suite of driver assistance and safety features, including rear parking sensors, lane keep assist, intelligent speed assistance, driver attention alert, automatic lights with high beam assist, and an advanced emergency braking system.
Both diesel and electric versions of the Combo are available in two lengths (standard and XL) and as a five-seat Crew Van. The Combo is distinguished by the Vizor front end, a distinctive design signature found across Vauxhall’s entire passenger car line-up.
The Combo Electric, featuring a 52kWh battery, can travel up to 213 miles on a single charge (WLTP combined cycle). Powered by an electric motor developing 136PS and 270Nm of torque, the Combo Electric comes with a 7.4kW onboard charger as standard (an 11kW charger is optional). The battery can be recharged from 0-80% in 30 minutes at a 100kW public charging station.
The Combo Electric offers up to 4.4 cubic metres of storage space, a best-in-class payload of 781kg, and a braked towing capacity of 750kg.
The diesel version of the Combo is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, available in two states of tune. The 100PS version is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, while the more powerful 130PS version comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The new Combo offers a maximum payload of 984kg and a braked towing capacity of 1,000kg.
In 2024, the Combo was the UK’s second best-selling compact van, which helped Vauxhall become the UK’s second best-selling van manufacturer (excluding pick-ups), with sales volume increasing from 34,632 to 36,474 and the brand’s market share growing from 9.93% to 10.08%.
Pricing The new Combo is now available to order, with the Prime Plus trim starting at £23,575 (OTR RRP exc. VAT) for diesel versions and £28,100 (OTR RRP after Plug-in Van Grant, exc. VAT) for the Combo Electric.
