Vauxhall Mokka Electric

Vauxhall has purposefully not completely overhauled the Mokka's appearance but rather subtly emphasised its visual strengths. The black Vizor, first introduced on the Mokka and now present on every model in Vauxhall’s line-up, integrates the headlights and Griffin into one element. As on the new Vauxhall Frontera, the familiar wing signature of the LED lights at the front and rear shines in a more modern interpretation with three ‘lighting blocks.’ At the rear, the New Mokka features body colours skid plates and new HD Rear-view camera.

Other changes include a redesigned front bumper to improve aerodynamics and a black design line running from the bonnet to the rear above the side windows. On the Mokka GS upwards, black cladding at the front, rear and wheel arches also convey sporty elegance. A high-gloss black trim strip running across the lower door surfaces at the rear reflects the window design line in the side moulding and emphasises the stylish appearance. In addition, the New Mokka completely dispenses with chrome applications on the exterior.

A new simplified steering wheel, high-end switch gear, and more elegant centre console add to the subtly enhanced interior. A new 10-inch digital instrument display and 10-inch touchscreen now come as standard. Ultimate models feature an upgraded navigation system including EV routing and ChatGPT integration.

For their New Mokka, customers can choose from a range of striking new colours – including Tropical Green, Colibri Blue and Graphic Grey.

Design models come with 17-inch diamond-cut bi-colour alloy wheels as standard, whilst GS and Ultimate models feature 18-inch diamond-cut bi-colour alloy wheels on petrol and hybrid variants. Electric variants feature their own aerodynamic 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheel design. GS and Ultimate also benefit from a contrasting black roof with front and rear bumpers and spoilers in high gloss black.

Inside, the New Mokka features an enhanced design, housed within a detoxed cabin.

A driver-oriented 10-inch centrally mounted infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto sits in the centre of the dashboard. Ahead of the driver is a fully digital 10-inch cluster that provides essential information, creating an elegant, high-tech environment. Ultimate models come complete with inbuilt navigation and wireless smartphone charging. Frequently used settings such as climate control can also be operated intuitively using physical buttons.

All models benefit from natural voice recognition which provides a quick and hands-free way to control key vehicle functions for an added level of safety, activated by saying “Hey Vauxhall!” The new three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel inspired by the ‘Compass’ design principle completes the interior upgrades.

Vauxhall’s ergonomic seats also ensure the highest levels of comfort, certified by AGR (the German “Campaign for Healthier Backs”). On Ultimate models, they introduce driver seat lumbar support and massage function, to ensure outstanding comfort even during long journeys. The seat fabric is made from 100% recycled materials on all models.

New Mokka comes with a revised powertrain line-up, including the fully electric Mokka Electric, now available exclusively with a 54kWh battery and 156PS electric motor. This enables the Mokka Electric to travel up to 250 miles on a single charge (WLTP), with 0-62mph taking 9 seconds, with a top speed of 93mph. With 260Nm of torque, the Mokka Electric provides quick acceleration from a standing start and plenty of driving pleasure.

New Mokka Hybrid combines a 136hp 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine with a 28hp electric motor and 48-volt technology to deliver outstanding efficiency and performance. Paired with a new six-speed dual-clutch transmission, it is capable of up to 58.8 mpg (WLTP), emits as little as 108g/km of CO2 and is capable of 0-62mph in 8.2 seconds, with a top speed of 129mph.

Vauxhall has simplified the petrol engine line-up for New Mokka. The 100PS version of the 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine is no longer available, with customers instead able to choose the more powerful 136PS iteration of this engine paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, capable of 0-62mph in 8.9 seconds, with a top speed of129mph. A 130PS version is also available with an eight-speed automatic transmission, capable of 0-62mph in 8.9 seconds, with a top speed of 126mph.

New Mokka is also available with an extensive array of driver assistance systems. Among the features included as standard are Cruise Control with intelligent speed limiter, Extended traffic sign recognition, Lane Keep Assist and In Crash Braking, a system designed to reduce the chance of a secondary collision in case of an accident and enhanced automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection.

As part of Vauxhall’s continued commitment to simplicity, New Mokka is available in three trim levels – Design, GS and Ultimate.

All New Mokka Design models are equipped with Intelli-LED headlights as standard, with a body-coloured roof and 17-inch black diamond-cut alloy wheels. Infotainment is provided by a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, 10-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Vauxhall Connect, speech recognition and a USB-C port. For added convenience, Design trim benefits from automatic headlights and wipers as well as rear parking sensors, driver attention alert, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, speed limiter and high beam assist. Electronic climate control and electrically adjustable/heated door mirrors are also standard. Inside, the New Mokka Design features a leather-effect steering wheel, driver’s seat height seat adjustment, black headliner and new sustainable seat fabric.

GS trim and above features high-gloss black painted claddings, lower grille, and front lateral inserts. GS trim also adds 18-inch diamond-cut bi-colour alloy wheels on petrol models and 18-inch diamond-cut bi-colour aero wheels on electric variants. Exterior styling is further enhanced with a gloss black roof, tinted privacy glass rear windows and a shark fin antenna. Inside, GS models benefit from added ambient lighting, a centre armrest and console, grab handles, a rear reading lamp, and seats made from a Black Focus material with passenger seat height adjustment. GS variants also feature a high-resolution 180° rear-view parking camera.

Ultimate variants feature an all-encompassing specification, improving on the GS trim with advanced features such as Intelli-Lux Matrix headlights. Additional driver assists include forward brake assist, blind spot alert, front and rear parking sensors, and Active Drive Assist. Comfort is enhanced with heated seats finished in Suede, driver seat lumbar support with massage function and a heated steering wheel. An electrochromic frameless rear view mirror is also added. The infotainment system is upgraded through inbuilt navigation and a wireless phone charger. Keyless entry and start is available on both petrol and electric variants.

Second Generation

In the second generation, the Mokka’s name is again simply Mokka, just like at its debut in 2012. “Bold and pure is our consistent mantra”, says Vauxhall MD Stephen Norman. For the first time at Vauxhall, the model name proudly spreads out in the centre of the rear panel, using a new, precisely chiselled techy font. When the first Mokka was launched, it surprised with its compact dimensions and tough appearance. The new Mokka is even more compact and robust, in a highly progressive way: extra efficient, pure and bold, with dramatically shorter overhangs (-61 mm in the front, -66 mm in the rear), 10 additional millimetres in width and a visually stretched silhouette for perfect proportions. Its compact size and general appearance make the 18-inch wheels look more impressively powerful than ever.

The Mokka is also the first model to show Vauxhall’s new, unmistakable brand front fascia: the Vauxhall Vizor. Extending across the entire front of the vehicle below the bonnet, the Vauxhall Vizor is an elegant module that horizontally frames brand features such as the latest-generation IntelliLux LED® matrix headlights and the typical wing signature of the LED daytime running lights, proudly punctuated in its centre by the legendary Vauxhall Griffin. The Vauxhall Vizor invented by the team around design chief Mark Adams will featured on all of the Brand's models throughout the 2020s.

“Bold and Pure, this is what Vauxhall’s design of the future will look like. The new Mokka shows athletic proportions combined with precisely structured, flowing surfaces. We have developed this philosophy to create a Design with progressive Bold personality combined with Purity”, explained Vauxhall Design Vice President, Mark Adams.

This philosophy continues in the interior, where the anchor is the Pure Panel, which repeats the design intention of the Vauxhall Vizor. Two wide screens of up to 10 and 12 inches in size welcome the occupants; the central display is deliberately tilted to the driver and the air vents are pushed to the background to enhance a focused experience. The Pure Panel provides the latest technologies and most important information for the driver, while all irritating visual stimuli are absent. The design of the centre console too has been impressively cleaned up: thanks to the electronic parking brake as well as the new electric gear lever, no protruding element disturbs the purity of its design. All controls and modules are elegantly integrated.

The new Mokka arrives in the B-segment with top innovations that until recently have only been available in the luxury class. Vauxhall is a leader in lighting technology. All Mokka variants are equipped with latest generation LED lights – from daytime running lights in typical Vauxhall graphics to front fog lights. An absolute highlight in this segment is the adaptive IntelliLux LED® matrix headlights with a total of 14 elements. As with the Vauxhall Insignia, Vauxhall Astra and the new Vauxhall Corsa, the lighting system enables driving on permanent high beam. In order to not glare their drivers, the individual LED elements can get off or deem down in milliseconds to “cut” oncoming vehicles or vehicles driving in front out of the light cone – nobody is dazzled yet Mokka passengers experience stadium-like illumination. In the rear, the choice for LED-only technology has allowed designers to go for very thin, stretched lights enhancing the feeling of precision and quality.

Excellent seating engineering is par excellence typical of Vauxhall. Various six-way ergonomic seats are available, which are individually adjustable. A sporty Alcantara and a classic full leather interior are both orderable – highly unusual for a vehicle in the B-segment. The crowning glory is the heated leather seat with perforated surface and massage function for the driver

The driver and front-seat passenger can place their smartphones in the storage tray provided in the centre console. Compatible telephones recharge here inductively (wireless). A rubber mat prevents the devices from sliding around. The new infotainment range perfectly networks and entertains Mokka drivers and passengers. Multimedia Radio and Multimedia Navi systems with a 7-inch colour touchscreen and the top-of-the-line system Multimedia Navi Pro with a high-resolution 10-inch colour touchscreen are available. The monitors are integral with the new Pure Panel from Vauxhall and ideally positioned towards the driver.

The Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible multimedia systems feature integrated voice control. The new Mokka also offers the VauxhallConnect service. LIVE navigation2 with real-time traffic information, plus a direct link to breakdown assistance and eCall make journeys even more relaxing for drivers and passengers. If the airbags or seatbelt tensioners deploy in an accident, eCall contacts the local Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) automatically.
