With well over 3 million Astras already sold in the UK over the last 40 years the New Astra, with a refreshed exterior design, a completely new range of fuel efficient powertrains and the latest technology, is poised for more sales success.
New Astra will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motorshow in September 2019 with vehicles starting to arrive at Retailers from mid-November 2019.
UK order banks will open on the 01 August 2019.
New Astra’s styling builds on the strengths of today’s Astra, which was voted “European Car of the Year 2016” The design remains thoroughly modern and attractive and at the same time we have refined some details including the front grille and front bumper design, as well as adding LED headlamps on up level models providing a fresher appearance and to help lower CO2
Wind tunnel development has made a significant contribution to the reductions in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. At 0.26 Cd, the Astra HB5 is the most aerodynamic car in its class
The aero-benchmarks have been achieved through numerous measures, including an engine compartment cover and deflector shaped rear axle control arms. The upper and lower portions of the radiator grille automatically open and close independently of one another, further improving the frontal airflow and underbody optimisation improves the drag coefficient by reducing turbulence
The new Astra has an impressive all new range of powertrains featuring three cylinder, turbo charged petrol and diesel engines with start / stop. These new engines set the standard for fuel economy and low emissions providing CO2 reductions of up to 19% versus the outgoing Astra and are all Euro 6d (6.3) and RDE 2 compliant.
The new petrol engines are available with 1.2 and 1.4 litre displacements, with power outputs from 110PS to 145PS. The 1.5 litre diesel engines offer 105PS and 122PS power outputs.
The low consumption and CO2 figures are enhanced by the modern six-speed manual gearboxes, the new stepless automatic transmission available with the 1.4 petrol engine and a new nine-speed automatic available with the 1.5 diesel engine.
Astra customers will enjoy high levels of connectivity with the smarter, faster and more intuitive Multimedia Radio, Multimedia Navi and Multimedia Navi Pro systems. All systems are compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The top-of-the-line Multimedia Navi Pro which is standard on Elite NAV and Ultimate NAV models has an eight-inch colour touchscreen and can also be operated by voice control. Connected Navigation services are available with real-time traffic information and online map updates make the journey more relaxed, while the navigation display itself appears with redesigned symbols in a fresher, more modern look. The same applies to the instrument cluster, which features a new digital speedometer.
