The introduction of more environmentally friendly engines compliant with Euro 6.2 legislation is a positive step forward. Following the earlier introduction of the Euro 6.2 1.6 Turbo 200PS & 1.6 CDTi 136PS engines, we are now pleased to confirm that for MY19, all Astra engines are now Euro 6.2 compliant.
Astra’s new Euro 6.2 petrol engines have a Gasoline Particulate Filter (GPF) fitted as standard. The GPF works efficiently by removing particles of particulate matter from the exhaust gases as they pass through the filter.
Astra’s new Euro 6.2 diesel engines have an AdBlue system fitted as standard. AdBlue is an inexpensive fluid that consists of 32% urea and 68% water. BlueInjection directly injects AdBlue into the exhaust to cause a chemical reaction that removes harmful mono-nitrogen oxide emissions, reducing them to water and nitrogen.
For MY19 the 1.4 100PS petrol engine and the 1.6 CDTi 110PS diesel engine are no longer available, although the 1.6 CDTi 110PS S/S ecoTEC diesel remains, further simplifying the Astra line up.
As of today all the new Euro 6.2 engines are available to order, however, the Euro 6.2 versions of the 1.4 Turbo 125PS, 1.4 Turbo 150PS and 1.6 CDTi Bi-Turbo 150PS engines do not go into production until October 2018.

Previously known as the ergonomic driver’s sports-style seat, the Driver’s Ergonomic Active Seat is certified by AGR (The Campaign for Healthier Backs) which is an independent centre of excellence for ergonomics, based in Germany.
The driver’s seat itself offers a number of adjustable settings including power lumbar support and front cushion extension to help find the perfect driving position no matter how long your journey.
In conjunction with this specification enhancement the List Price of SRi, SRi NAV, SRi VX-Line & SRi VX-Line NAV models has been increased by £260 inc.VAT.
