We are looking for an apprentice service and diagnostic technician to work in a busy workshop environment. You will carry out tasks relevant to maintaining and repairing motor vehicles. You will be partly responsible for maintenance of the workshop environment.
As part of your training, you will attend one of the Vauxhall My Academy technician centres. Training consists of 17 weeks block training over a 3 year period with the remainder of time being spent at the dealership where practical training will be provided.
You will learn how to diagnose and repair faults on a range of Vauxhall vehicles, as well as carry out routine servicing. Computer technology plays a key part in today's vehicles and you will use diagnostic equipment as part of your everyday activities.
You will receive extensive training on a full range of topics which will result in nationally recognised industry qualifications.
You must be able to display a positive attitude and be able to work well as part of a team and want to obtain a full driving licence.
All Apprentices graduate with a Framework/Standards Level 2 and 3 qualification (inclusive of competence and knowledge qualifications VCQ and VRQ),as well as achieving the Vauxhall My Academy Bronze and Silver accreditation. Third year achiever Apprentices also benefit from recognised Automotive Technician Accreditation(ATA) assessments/award, and the DEFRA award for Refrigerant Handling.
