Vauxhall has taken its newest electric SUV to bold new heights with the reveal of the Frontera GRAVEL – a rugged, all-terrain show car designed to inspire thrill-seeking drivers. Built in collaboration with tuning experts BlackFish and XS, the Frontera GRAVEL showcases what a future, adventure-focused version of the all-electric Vauxhall Frontera could look like.
With its robust stance, bold graphics, and extensive expedition-ready features, the GRAVEL brings a tougher edge to the already practical and family-friendly Frontera range. The concept features bespoke 7x16-inch BORBET CWE wheels, a winch-equipped front bumper, black lattice-style roof rack, side-mounted storage boxes, and powerful exterior spotlights mounted on both the bonnet and Thule roof carrier.
Finished in a striking ‘Desert Stone’ wrap, the exterior is contrasted with matte black bodywork and vivid orange accents – seen on the mirror housings, bumpers, spoiler, and even the iconic Griffin badge in the Vauxhall Vizor. This attention-grabbing design hints at the freedom and rugged independence the concept is built to represent.
Inside, the GRAVEL retains the comfort of the production Frontera while adding bold, bespoke features, such as black headlining and orange seat highlights introduced by the interior specialists at XS.
The Frontera GRAVEL maintains its electric underpinnings, offering zero-emissions driving with plenty of torque and a low centre of gravity, making it ideal for soft-roading and nature-based adventures. It’s a concept that blends eco-consciousness with off-road capability.
According to Rebecca Reinermann, Vice President Marketing of Opel and Vauxhall:
“With the Frontera GRAVEL show car, we’ve pushed the limits, imagining a tougher, more daring, trailblazing version. It’s all about freedom, adventure, excitement and pushing boundaries.”
The Frontera GRAVEL will make its public debut at XS CARNIGHT Wörthersee, taking place from 28 May to 1 June in Klagenfurt, Austria. The reveal event is scheduled for Friday 30 May in the Opel Hall at the Klagenfurt Trade Fair.
