Vauxhall has partnered with JOLT, an innovative EV charging and digital advertising company, to offer free public charging for Vauxhall electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. Running from 3rd February to 2nd March 2025, this initiative allows drivers to charge their vehicles at over 40 JOLT charging stations across North West London at no cost.
This collaboration supports Vauxhall’s wider Electric Streets of Britain initiative, which aims to improve EV charging accessibility for drivers without off-street parking. Since its launch, Vauxhall has received over 15,000 registrations on over 11,500 streets across the country.
To access the free charging offer, Vauxhall EV and plug-in hybrid owners need to:
During the offer period, JOLT will apply free charging to eligible vehicles, allowing drivers to top up their cars at no cost. JOLT normally provides all users 7kWh of free daily charging (equivalent to around 30 miles), with additional charging available at 35p per kWh. Since its UK launch in October 2023, JOLT has already delivered over 6.3 million miles of clean energy to EV drivers.
JOLT’s approach combines fast, free EV charging with digital advertising. Charging units feature high-impact digital screens, where Vauxhall will run a dedicated advertising campaign promoting both the free charging offer and the launch of the New Grandland Electric. Some JOLT chargers will also be wrapped in Vauxhall-branded livery, further reinforcing the partnership.
This initiative aligns with Vauxhall’s commitment to making electric driving more accessible. As one of the UK’s leading EV brands, Vauxhall now offers fully electric versions of every model in its range, supporting a cleaner, greener future.
James Taylor, Managing Director, Vauxhall, said: “Access to on-street charging continues to be a hot topic to ensure the UK can continue along its electrification journey. In partnership with JOLT, Vauxhall is continuing to support electric vehicle drivers, offering free charging for any Vauxhall electric vehicle customer visiting a JOLT unit. We’re committed to electrifying Britain and look forward to seeing even more innovative on-street charging solutions for drivers to make their day-to-day journeys.”
“Our collaboration with Vauxhall sets a new benchmark for public EV charging,” said John Rainford, UK Country Manager at JOLT. “This campaign highlights the power of integrating high-impact advertising with essential infrastructure. By delivering cost-effective, accessible, and sustainable charging solutions, we’re not just supporting EV drivers - we’re empowering communities, boosting local economies, generating revenue for local authorities, enabling community messaging, and supporting local businesses and charities. Together with Vauxhall, we’re showing how innovative partnerships can drive meaningful change and a cleaner, greener future.”
Public charging access remains a key concern for EV owners, so partnerships like this are essential in encouraging more drivers to switch to electric vehicles. By making fast, free, and convenient charging available in urban areas, Vauxhall and JOLT are paving the way for a more sustainable transport network.
