Vauxhall has unveiled its refreshed Mokka, featuring a modern, compact, and distinctive design. The brand is enhancing the appeal of the unconventional compact SUV, both inside and out, with new accents that highlight its unique character and introduce advanced technologies typically found in larger vehicles.
Enhanced style: New lighting blocks and design accents
The Mokka, with its bold and sharp lines, introduced Vauxhall’s signature Vizor, now seen on all new models. The new Mokka refines its visual strengths rather than overhauling its look. The black Vizor unifies the headlights and Griffin badge into one element. As seen on the Vauxhall Frontera, the LED lights at the front and rear adopt a more modern interpretation, featuring three ‘lighting blocks’ for a striking appearance.
A black design line running from the bonnet to the rear above the side windows will stand out in every variant. On the GS trim and up, black cladding at the front, rear, and wheel arches adds sporty elegance. A high-gloss black trim strip along the lower door surfaces mirrors the side window line, enhancing the sleek look. Staying true to Vauxhall’s ‘Greenovation’ philosophy, the redesigned front bumper and new aero wheels (available on the Mokka Electric) improve aerodynamics, while chrome has been completely removed from the exterior.
Sustainable innovation: New Mokka interior
The New Mokka’s interior continues Vauxhall's sustainability push, with all fabrics made from recycled materials. The ‘detox’ approach focuses on simplicity, with a new steering wheel featuring flat surfaces at the top and bottom for a sporty feel. The Vauxhall Vizor is also carried into the cabin, with the Griffin in the center, reflecting the horizontal lines of the exterior design.
The center console between the front seats, now in a matt silver tone, has been streamlined. Several controls, previously managed by buttons, are now integrated into the central color touchscreen, creating a cleaner and more premium cabin feel, as if from a higher class of vehicle. Controls for the electric parking brake and driving modes (in the Mokka Electric and automatic models) are taken from the New Vauxhall Grandland.
Smart, intuitive, and customisable: Upgraded infotainment
The New Mokka’s multimedia and navigation infotainment system has been significantly upgraded. Standard features include a 10-inch digital driver display and an equally large color touchscreen. The touchscreen operates with widgets similar to smartphones, or via the optional navigation system with voice commands like “Hey, Vauxhall” for natural voice recognition. Both displays can be personalised, and the system wirelessly connects with the driver’s smartphone, remembering personal settings. Custom shortcuts and different color schemes allow for further personalization.
The integrated navigation system offers wireless map updates and learns routes and destinations over time, with suggestions powered by ChatGPT (in combination with Connected Navigation). Drivers can also send destinations to the vehicle via the myVauxhall app.
The Mokka Electric's infotainment system also supports EV routing, displaying charging stations along the route. Wireless smartphone charging and USB-C ports in the center console are available, while a 180-degree rear-view camera ensures easy maneuvering in urban settings.
Simplified choices: Two electrified drivetrains, three trims, no packs
Vauxhall has simplified the decision-making process for the New Mokka, with three trims: Design, GS, and Ultimate. Customers simply pick their trim, powertrain, and color.
The Mokka offers efficient petrol options and two electrified choices. It comes as a hybrid with 48-volt technology or as the battery-electric Mokka Electric. The fully electric version is now available with a 115 kW (156 hp) motor and a 54 kWh battery, offering up to 250 miles of range (WLTP). The battery’s underfloor location helps maintain a low center of gravity, ensuring stability on the road. The Mokka Electric delivers instant torque of 260 Nm, providing rapid acceleration and driving enjoyment.
For those preferring a hybrid option, the New Mokka Hybrid combines a 100 kW (136 hp) 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a 21 kW (28 hp) electric motor and a new electrified six-speed dual-clutch transmission. This system significantly reduces fuel consumption and CO2 emissions compared to conventional vehicles, with the ability to drive locally emissions-free in electric mode at low speeds.
With the New Mokka, Frontera, and Grandland, Vauxhall offers an advanced electric and electrified SUV range that caters to virtually every customer need.
