Is Aston Vauxhall a Financial Services Authority (FSA) approved company? Return to top
Yes. Please click here to view our Initial Disclosure Document. Introduced on xxx, the new FSA rules will change the way customers buy cars and vans in the future. Among the many advantages of the new regime will be clearer information for consumers about general insurance policies. Consumers will be able to compare insurance policies more easily, with clear information on any significant and unusual exclusion, understand the nature and cost of the policy they are buying and have access to the Financial Ombudsman if they have a complaint and to the Financial Services Compensation Scheme if firms go out of business. Please contact us for more information or visit www.fsa.gov.uk.

Why do many of your new car prices include a Finance Deposit Allowance (FDA)? Return to top
At ASTON VAUXHALL, we're constantly looking at new ways to ensure our customers always pay the lowest possible price. Sometimes, in addition to our normal discounts off the MRRP, we will also include the FDA saving in the advertised price. The FDA saving is the amount that the Manufacturer will pay towards your finance deposit when you choose to finance on certain Finance plans.
If you didn't want to finance your purchase, but would still like to take advantage of the savings available, we would suggest that you only finance the minimum amount over the minimum term (usually £1500 over 12 months) and pay cash for the rest. By following our suggestion you will be able to significantly reduce the total amount you pay for your new vehicle. Please call us on 01664 650015for more details. Please note that the FDA amount shown cannot normally be used in conjunction with 0% finance offers and the FDA amount varies according to make and model.

What is a Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) Finance Plan? Return to top
A PCP allows you to finance a car but at lower monthly repayments than traditional Hire Purchase or Personal Loan. With traditional methods of purchasing a car your payments are based on having to repay the entire cost of the car equally over the period of the agreement. However with PCP you are able to defer a proportion of the cost of the car as a Final Payment which is payable at the end of the agreement. A Guaranteed Future Value (GFV) is set based on the car's estimated value at the end of the agreement, which will be equal to the Final Payment.

If I'm not financing the vehicle through ASTON VAUXHALL, what are the payment methods available? Return to top
We require cleared funds on the delivery/collection. We accept payment in the form of credit transfer, debit or credit cards (charges apply according to amount payable), bankers draft, building society cheque, personal cheque and cash (the amount of cash is governed by money laundering regulations.

Do Aston Vauxhall comply with the Home Shopping: Distance Selling Regulations and what is my right to cancel? Return to top
Yes. At ASTON VAUXHALL we believe it is important for all our customers to have all the information on our vehicles and services before, during and after sale, whether bought over the internet or over the phone.
The key features of our compliance to this regulation are that we will supply clear information, including details of the goods/services offered, delivery arrangements, payment details, our details as a supplier, prior information on your right to cancel before you buy and confirmation via email or letter when an order has been made. You, as a consumer, have a cooling-off period of 7 working days from your date of order when you have not visited one of our branches. Please call us on 01664 650015

Is the vehicle mileage reading accurate? Return to top
To protect our customers we have vehicle mileages investigated by Vehicle Mileage Check Ltd (VMC) on a sliding scale according to history, age and mileage. The mileage recorded on any vehicle may still be under investigation. The accuracy of its odometer reading therefore cannot be relied upon and should be disregarded until we can confirm the availability of the VMC report.

If a vehicle is pre-registered, what does it mean? Return to top

It means that the vehicle is registered to a third part (usually) by Aston prior to sale or delivery.  This allows Aston to supply vehicles from stock that are in short supply at a competitive price advantage.  Often vehicles have holding periods to gain even greater price benefits.  The minimum holding period for pre-registered vehicles is 90 days from 1st registration.  However we do operate a scheme which allows us to release the car but hold the V5 for the 90 days.

Vauxhall Swappage Terms and ConditionsReturn to top

What is Swappage?

Vauxhall have put together a Scrappage-esque Scheme for those who didn't qualify for the Government Scrappage Scheme.

There are also a two points in which the Vauxhall Swappage surpasses the Government Scrappage Scheme

  • You car must be 7 years or older - Unlike the Government Scrappage Scheme which was 10 years
  • No upper age limit for cars - also unlike the Government Scrappage Scheme

Aston typical Swappage price

  • Typical vehicles of 7-10 years old are split in to four categories
  • Each category will have an average high value, and an average low value
  • The two categories (average high and average low) prices are averaged to get to your typical Swappage part exchange price

A vehicle worth more will obviously get a higher value when trading in but overall, your part exchange price will be close to our typical part exchange Swappage part exchange value.

How to qualify:

1 - Your vehicle must be at least 7 years old (from date of first registration in the UK) at the time you place your order for a new Vauxhall

2 - Your vehicle must be insured, road-taxed and have a current MOT (or one that has expired no earlier than 14 days prior to the new vehicle order date)

3 - You or your Spouse/Partner living at the same UK address must have been the registered keeper of the vehicle continuously for at least the 90 days)

t 90 days

For advertising purposes and to demonstrate a typical Swappage Deal we take four typical vehicle bandings. Model, age and condition average the value to give a mid-way value value for our advert example. Therefore older vehicles in poor condition or the lesser marque will attract a price of less than that advertised. Those lower mileage vehicles, newer and better marque will attract a higher price and the mid-way price in the advertised price.
